Over the last three years, more than 110,000 women have sought assistance from homelessness services due to domestic and family violence, 45,000 of them with children. These are official numbers, but don’t capture the work of all the non-government services in this space who don’t feed into official collection data. The upshot is that the numbers are 15-20% underestimated, as services like ours deal with requests and do the work without it being counted anywhere.
