And what a cracker of a night it was! Peter Hunt from the WCS Board and I were completely overwhelmed by the power of the community response to the Great Lakes Womens Shelter and the Launch. So many wonderful community contributions and so much goodwill for its ongoing support.
In three months, we’ve already provided accommodation and case management to 20 women and over 40 children, clearly demonstrating just how needed the service is in the local community. I could not have imagined such a great place for our first regional shelter and I could not be prouder of the result. Thank you to the Board, Shelter Staff, Patrons and supports – you’ve have achieved a 20-year dream inside 12 months and it’s a privilege to support it.
